Early Development - The WROMP
Before I could build a military version of the SMB for Non-Lethal Tactical Engagement. I would need to build a small-scale version to resolve the gun cradle, elevation mechanism, vision system, and firing mechanism. So, I researched Paintball Guns and found this Mil-Sim version from Tippman. I decided to build a paintball gun module and mount it to the ROMP Platform.
The ROMP would become the WROMP (Weaponized Remotely Operated Mobile Platform). It would feature an air powered, semi-automatic Tippmann A5 with Q-loading, an elevation of +/- 25˚ and FPV Vision -allowing the user to sight down the barrel remotely. It included a laser sight and picatinny rails. The Idea was to load it with Rubber Non-Lethal rounds or Pepper Balls for Law Enforcement and SWAT. Very Bad-Ass.
Once I had a working prototype, as usual, I made a video and posted it on You-Tube. I had tons of interest but few sales. However, the R&D was very useful in developing the big brother “The Mega Hurtz” which shared many features and added a rotating Turret.
