My Story - My Patents

As an Industrial Designer, I shared several patents with other designers and Engineers. But after setting off on my own, and as soon as I knew I had a unique and marketable product - which everyone seemed to be intrigued with, I knew I had to protect my invention. I decided to file for two utility patents. The first was called the “Remotely Operated Robotic Platform” and covers the Mega-Hurtz and the Super Mega Bot Robots. Here is an excerpt from the background of the Invention:

Prior art remote controlled vehicles lack the functionality to be reconfigured to perform difficult, dangerous, or hazardous work, such as searching a rubble pile for survivors of a natural disaster; taking radiation levels after a nuclear catastrophe; breeching a wall of a building where an armed and dangerous terrorist is making bombs; providing security for a high value asset; crawling through a sewage pipeline; or serving a high-risk warrant.

The Second Patent was called the “Intrinsically Stable Pan/Tilt Mount for Remote Operation of Weapons or Tools” and basically cover my Pan/Tilt Mechanisms. Here is a summary of that Invention:

Methods, systems, and other means are provided for remote controlled vehicles and equipment.  In accordance with some embodiments, the invention has three controlled mechanisms 1) a firing mechanism; 2) an elevation mechanism and 3) a rotation mechanism.  Each portion is separately controlled by a different radio frequency that can be used from a single remote controller.
